SALINAS, CA (December 13, 2022) – A pedestrian sustained injuries in an accident near Salinas High School, Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 12, shortly after noon. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit a pedestrian along South Main Street near Pine Street.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
As per reports, the victim was not a student.
 
Responders temporarily closed the front of the school to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
