BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 16, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Cottonwood Road near Pacheco Road.
 
According to Bakersfield Police, the hit-and-run happened around 2:00 a.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, a southbound vehicle struck a man walking along the east shoulder of Cottonwood Road. Soon after, officials arrived to find him suffering from major injuries before he passed away.
