Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car on Harbor Freeway in South LA
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles late Monday evening.
The accident happened around 10:06 p.m. on July 5, at the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was running across the southbound Harbor Freeway when a white Mercedes-Benz struck them.
As result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 10:43 p.m. shutting down all southbound lanes of the Harbor Freeway near the crash site, with traffic diverted into Express Lanes and onto the eastbound Glenn Anderson Freeway.
It is unknown if the involved driver stayed or fled after the crash.
An investigation into this fatal accident is ongoing.
