Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on 4th Street in Bakersfield Turns Deadly

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 6, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 4th Street in Bakersfield early Monday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:54 a.m. on July 5. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded to the 600 block of 4th Street and found two injured men in the road.
 
Police determined that a male pedestrian was walking in the road when a vehicle struck him. The driver got out of his vehicle to check on the victim, but both were struck by a different driver, who remained on scene.
 
Paramedics attempted saving the pedestrian, but he died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The first driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
 
Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. They asked anyone with further information to call them at 661-327-7111.
