Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car on Pond Road in Delano

 
DELANO, CA (March 15, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Pond Road near Wallace Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 6:38 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a 55-year-old pedestrian walked into the path of a westbound vehicle east of Wallace Road. Subsequently, the westbound Nissan Sentra struck the individual.
 
Moments later, paramedics and police arrived at the scene and confirmed one fatality. The 36-year-old driver from Delano stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, who ruled out DUI as a factor. At this time, the fatal victim’s name and ultimate cause are unavailable.
