1 Person Dies in Apple Valley Pedestrian Accident on Highway 18

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (January 16, 2024) — A pedestrian hit by a car on Highway 18 near Kasota Road died Sunday night.
 
According to the reports, the deadly pedestrian accident happened on January 14 around 6:20 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a 2020 Toyota Corolla struck a male pedestrian near St. Mary’s Medical Center. Shortly after, paramedics responded and performed CPR efforts on the gravely injured victim. However, efforts fell short, and the man passed away at a nearby hospital.
 
Following the crash, the uninjured male driver and his female passenger cooperated with police investigators. Due to the crash, officials closed Highway 18 East and detoured traffic at Kasota Road.
