Pedestrian Chasing Loose Dog Fatally Struck by Car on County Center Drive in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (February 14, 2022) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by car at County Center Drive and Victor Avenue in Visalia on Wednesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on February 9. According to the Visalia Police Department, the victim was walking a dog on a leash when the animal managed to slip away and run across the street.
 
The victim ran into the roadway while trying to catch their dog when a car struck them.
 
When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian lying in the roadway and later pronounced them dead at the scene.
 
Alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the crash, officers said. Further investigation is underway.
