Man Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Highway 99 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (November 27, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a big rig on Highway 99 near Olive Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident occurred on Thanksgiving Day. For an unknown reason, an unidentified man reportedly parked his car along the highway and ran into the road. Subsequently, around 11:00 a.m., a call came through regarding this event.
 
Upon receiving the report, authorities responded to look for the vehicle and person but found nothing. However, not long after, a big rig driver struck a man who ran down the roadway.
 
Authorities found the victim from Kerman, a male in his 50s, lying on the road. At the scene, they also found a vehicle registered to the victim and a big rig that pulled over.
 
Following the crash, medical personnel responded and took him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he passed away.
 
Authorities have no information as to the details surrounding the accident. However, they will investigate this crash further.
