Patrick Casey Killed in Motocross Bike Crash near Sutherland Dam Road and Highway 78

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 8, 2023) — Patrick Casey, a former X Games BMX star, died in a motorbike accident near Sutherland Dam Road and Highway 78.
 
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said the deadly motocross crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, Patrick Michael Casey lost control of his motocross bike while riding with some friends at the Slayground Motocross Park. He subsequently crashed and was ejected from his motorbike.
 
Emergency crews arrived soon after and began performing life-saving measures, which fell short; Casey passed away at the scene.
 
At this time, California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the deadly incident. If anyone has information on this fatal crash, please call the CHP.
