Police Arrest Patricia Garrett for DUI after Head-On Crash in Merced that Injures 4 People

 
MERCED, CA (October 4, 2022) – Police arrested Patricia Garrett after a DUI head-on crash in Merced on Friday morning, September 30.
 
The crash happened around 10:04 a.m. in the 300 block of South Parsons Avenue near the Grove Apartments. Police said Garrett, a 24-year-old Merced resident, was driving a 1989 Chevrolet pickup south on South Parsons while reportedly under the influence of fentanyl.
 
She veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 2009 white Dodge Charger, driven by a 41-year-old man going north.
 
As a result of the crash, three people in the Charger – including two juveniles – suffered serious injuries.
 
Garrett was also injured in the crash. Police later arrested her on suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges. Garrett’s bond was set at $162,191, according to jail records.
