Wildomar DUI Crash at Grape Street and Olive Street, Passenger Dead

 
WILDOMAR, CA (September 4, 2022) – A passenger died in a DUI crash at Grape Street and Olive Street in Wildomar early Saturday, September 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:30 a.m. near 15 Freeway. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the driver of an unknown vehicle made an unsafe turning movement onto the right shoulder as it continued southbound towards the underpass.
 
Once at the underpass, the car became airborne and crashed into the dirt hillside on the south side of Olive Street.
 
The male passenger sitting in the right front seat was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver, a 34-year-old Hesperia man, suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment. Police later arrested him on suspicion of felony DUI causing death.
 
An investigation is ongoing. Authorities urged anyone with further information to contact the CHP’s Temecula area office at 951-506-2000.
