Fatal Two-Car Accident on Highway 52 in University City

 
UNIVERSITY CITY, CA (October 5, 2022) – One driver was killed in a two-car accident on Highway 52 in University City on Monday morning, October 3.
 
The accident happened on a ramp to eastbound Highway 52 near Regents Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 45-year-old man was exiting the freeway onto Regents Road when he drove his Toyota Camry over a highway divider within the intersection.
 
He then ran into a Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 39-year-old woman, heading north on Regents Road and transitioning to the on-ramp to eastbound Highway 52.
 
As a result of the crash, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The man suffered serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Police are still conducting their investigation.
