Two Trucks Collide on Highway 33 in Kern County Killing at Least One

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (May 12, 2022) – At least one person died in a truck accident on Highway 33 in western Kern County on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. on May 7 at the intersection with Highway 46 in Blackwells Corner. CHP officials said a U-Haul truck towing a vehicle collided into the rear of a semi truck carrying liquified petroleum.
 
First responders confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
