Crash Between Train and Vehicle on Grand Avenue in Tehachapi Leaves 1 Dead

 
TEHACHAPI, CA (May 8, 2023) – One person was killed in a train crash at Grand Avenue and East Tehachapi Boulevard on Saturday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:02 a.m. on May 6. According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle was on the tracks when it was struck by the train. The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames.
 
Deputies arrived and found one person dead inside the vehicle. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It is unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the crash. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
