Morning Crash on Little Morongo Road in Desert Hot Springs Ends in Fatality

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (August 26, 2023) – One person was killed in a traffic accident at Little Morongo Road and 15th Avenue in Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on August 23. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle went around barricades at the intersection and crashed. It then landed on the other side of the berm and burst into flames.
 
First responders pronounced one person dead at the scene.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
It was unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the crash. It was also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
