Traffic Accident on 80 Freeway in Vallejo Ends in Fatality

 
VALLEJO, CA (January 15, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a traffic accident on 80 Freeway in Vallejo on Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:55 a.m. on January 15, just west of the Hunter Hill Rest Area. According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving an unknown number of vehicles.
 
Upon arrival, officers confirmed at least one fatality as result of the collision.
 
The name, age and city of residence of the victim were not immediately available.
 
Crews issued a SigAlert in the area, blocking the left three lanes of the freeway while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
