Suspected Hit-and-Run Crash on Castroville Boulevard in Monterey County Ends in Fatality

 
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (August 29, 2022) – One person died in a suspected hit-and-run crash on Castroville Boulevard late Saturday evening, August 27.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:22 p.m. at Elkhorn Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the site and found one person suffering from injuries that appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, officers did not find any vehicle at the scene. They believe it was a red or maroon car with major front-end damage.
 
At this time, this fatality remains under investigation. Authorities are still on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
