Wrong-Way Driver Causes Deadly Crash on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass

 
CAJON PASS, CA (November 21, 2022) – One person died and several others were injured in a wrong-way crash on 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass early Saturday morning.
 
The crash happened around 1:13 a.m. on November 19, near Highway 138. According to the CHP, a gray sedan was speeding northbound in the southbound lane of the freeway when it collided head-on with a van, occupied by a male driver and several children. After the initial crash, other vehicles including a semi truck also got involved.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department responded and found the male driver of the van suffering from fatal injuries. The victim died at the scene.
 
Paramedics took several other people to local hospitals, one of them had critical injuries and four had minor injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the factors involved in the crash and liability.
