Scooter Rider Dies after Colliding with Vehicle on Claremore Lane in Los Alamitos

 
LOS ALAMITOS, CA (August 19, 2021) – One person was killed in a scooter accident at Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue in Los Alamitos Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:20 p.m. on August 18. According to the Los Alamitos Police Department, the victim was riding on a motorized scooter when they collided with another vehicle.
 
As a result, the scooter rider suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital, where they later died.
 
The driver of the vehicle and its passengers remained on scene. None of them was hurt.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officers asked anyone with further information to call the Los Alamitos Police Department watch commander at 562-431-2255, extension 426.
