Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Weedpatch Highway in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 21, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Weedpatch Highway in Bakersfield on Saturday night.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:05 p.m. on December 18 just north of Farmers Lane near Lamont. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck them.
 
As a result, the victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release their identity once next of kin is notified.
 
It is unknown at this time if the involved driver has stayed after the crash.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the fatality to determine the exact cause and factors involved.
