Person Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash on Vermont Avenue near 88th Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 25, 2022) — A person died after a pedestrian accident on Vermont Avenue on Monday, October 24.
According to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash happened shortly after 8:55 p.m. at 8539 South Vermont Avenue near Algin Sutton Recreation Center.
The force of the crash trapped the person underneath the vehicle. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to the LAFD.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.
There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
