Pedestrian Dies on Christmas Eve after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (December 28, 2022) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova on Christmas Eve.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:56 p.m. at the Sunrise Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the area when a white Dodge Caravan struck them.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol was involved. Further investigation is underway.
