Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car in Accident on Highway 101 in Orcutt

 
ORCUTT, CA (July 20, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 on July 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Clark Avenue just before 1:00 AM.
 
Based on reports, the male pedestrian was walking on the road at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a Ford F-150 heading northbound on the highway struck him.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered severe injuries in the incident. Crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire responded to the scene and brought the victim to the hospital. Later on, the patient died at the hospital. His identity was not yet released pending kin notification.
 
Officials said the driver of the truck was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. At this point, this pedestrian accident on Highway 101 is under investigation.
