Car Fatally Strikes Pedestrian on 238 Freeway in Castro Valley

 
CASTRO VALLEY, CA (June 29, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 238 Freeway in Castro Valley Monday morning on June 26.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:39 a.m. just west of 580 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking across lanes when a red Honda struck them. The impact sent the pedestrian onto the ground.
 
Paramedics arrived and rendered aid to the pedestrian, who eventually died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. This fatality is still under investigation.
