Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita Leaves 1 Dead

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (June 4, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita Thursday evening on June 1.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:30 p.m. at Valencia Boulevard, near the Magic Mountain Parkway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW, a tractor trailer and two other vehicles collided along the northbound freeway in unclear circumstances.
 
At least one of the vehicles crashed into a utility pole that ended up blocking the Valencia Boulevard on ramp.
 
One person suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
The crash closed the freeway for several hours while the CHP conducted its investigation.
