Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Passing Vehicle on River Boulevard in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 19, 2022) – One person was killed in a motorcycle accident on River Boulevard in Bakersfield on Friday afternoon, June 17.
 
The accident happened around 4:04 p.m. at the intersection with Bernard Street. According to the CHP, the victim was riding the motorcycle when they collided with a red passing vehicle.
 
When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist lying in the roadway with major injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed the victim to Kern Medical. Despite life-saving measures, the motorcyclist was declared dead.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
