Fatal Head-On Crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road near Fire Camp in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (February 17, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a head-on crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road on February 13.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Fire Camp at approximately 8:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a 2015 Toyota Prius was driving in the northbound lane on San Francisquito prior to the crash. At the same time, a 2014 Honda CRV was traveling in the southbound lane, just north of the intersection. Subsequently, the Toyota struck the front-end of the Honda.
 
As a result, the driver of the Honda died in the incident. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office only identified him as a Moorpark resident in his 60s.
 
Paramedics airlifted his passenger, a 74-year-old Moorpark resident, to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old resident of Lancaster, had moderate injuries.
