Morning Head-On Accident on Highway 101 in Prunedale Ends in Fatality
PRUNEDALE, CA (September 14, 2021) – At least one person died in a head-on accident on Highway 101 in Prunedale Monday morning.
The fatal accident happened around 6:01 a.m. on September 13, at the Crazy Horse Canyon Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Nissan Altima and a white Toyota Sienna collided head-on for unknown reasons. A third vehicle, a big rig, was also possibly involved in the collision.
First responders confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
The impact of the crash also caused major damage on both vehicles. Airbags were also deployed in one of the vehicles.
At this time, CHP officials are still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
