Early Morning Fiery Crash on 101 Freeway in Studio City Leaves 1 Dead

 
STUDIO CITY, CA (July 1, 2023) – One person was killed in a fiery crash on 101 Freeway in Studio City early Thursday morning on June 29.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:02 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at Tujunga Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a construction freeway striper truck and burst into flames.
 
When officers arrived, they found the driver of the burning vehicle trapped in the wreckage. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
The crash closed the freeway in the area while the CHP conducted its investigation.
