Fatal Morning Crash on 5 Freeway in Bakersfield Involves 3 Vehicles

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 11, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway at Highway 99 Saturday morning on April 8.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota sedan rear-ended a pickup truck for unknown reasons. An SUV that was traveling northbound then hit the pickup truck on its left side.
 
As a result of the crash, the driver of the pickup truck was ejected and died at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available. It is also unclear if there other injuries sustained in the crash.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
