Man Sustained Injuries in Pedestrian Crash on Bear Valley Road near 2nd Avenue

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 15, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Bear Valley Road at about 8:35 p.m. on Monday, July 12.
 
The crash happened directly in front of Desert Valley Hospital, east of 2nd Avenue in Victorville.
 
Victorville Fire along with AMR rushed to the incident and gave emergency medical care. Then they requested for a helicopter to airlift the patient to an out-of-area trauma hospital.
 
According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez, the man tried to cross to the north side of Bear Valley Road, in the middle of the intersection.
 
Rodriguez said that the driver of the vehicle moved westbound in the #1 lane. Then she saw the pedestrian suddenly in her path. She swerved to avoid hitting him but was unable to prevent the incident.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. There are no reports yet of the condition of the pedestrian.
