SANTA CLARITA, CA (July 28, 2023) – One person was hospitalized in a fiery two-car crash on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita Tuesday afternoon on July 25.
 
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. near Lyons Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a pursuit ended in a crash involving two cars. Both cars caught fire and spread to the nearby brush. One of the cars hit a pole which came down onto the freeway.
 
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
 
Paramedics took one person to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The pursuit suspect was taken into custody, officials said.
