3 Big Rigs Collide on 10 Freeway in Whitewater Sending 1 Person to Hospital

 
WHITEWATER, CA (March 26, 2023) – One person was hospitalized in a big rig accident on 10 Freeway in Whitewater Thursday morning on March 23.
 
The accident happened around 8:05 a.m. near Haughen Lehmann Way. CHP officials said three big rigs collided on the freeway when one semi rear-ended another.
 
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, fire crews responded shortly after to extricate one person. That person was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
CHP officials issued SigAlert, closing three lanes for about 90 minutes as they cleared road debris on the freeway.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
