Passenger Killed, Driver and Another Passenger Injured in Solo-Car Crash on Normandie Avenue

 
GARDENA, CA (October 21, 2021) — One person died in a solo-car crash on Normandie Avenue on Tuesday, October 19.
 
According to Lt. Eric Hyde of Gardena Police Department, the vehicle moved southbound on Normandie Avenue crossing over Redondo Beach Boulevard. Then it crashed into the pole just past midnight.
 
The force of the crash caused the car’s engine compartment to wrap around the pole on the southwest corner.
 
Three males were in the vehicle during the incident, Lt. Hyde said.
 
Medics pronounced one passenger dead at the scene. They also rushed the driver and the other passenger to a local hospital in unknown condition.
 
The identity of the deceased man was withheld, pending notification of his loved ones.
 
Investigators continue to determine the cause of the incident.
