One Airlifted in Rollover Accident on 15 Freeway near Afton Road [Afton, CA]

Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway in Afton Sends One Person to Hospital

 
AFTON, CA (December 15, 2023) – One person was airlifted after a rollover accident on 15 Freeway near the town of Baker Sunday morning on December 10.
 
The accident happened around 11:35 a.m. near Afton Road exit. According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling northbound on the freeway when it lost control.
 
It then went to the right shoulder and rolled over multiple times, down into 25 feet embankment.
 
Arriving officers rendered aid to the people involved in the accident. Rescue crews then requested a medical helicopter to transport one person to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
One person was transported from the scene by Mercy Air #66 helicopter to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
 
The driver of the pickup truck was reportedly speeding and driving reckless prior to the crash.
 
The California Highway Patrol Bartow Office is handling the investigation.
