SUV Rear-Ends Semi on 15 Freeway in Baker Injuring Two People

 
BAKER, CA (April 16, 2023) – One person was airlifted after a rear-end accident on 15 Freeway near the town of Baker Friday evening on April 14.
 
The accident happened around 8:26 a.m. about seven miles after the Kelbaker Road exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black SUV rear-ended a semi at highway speeds and rolled over.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department crews responded and found two people trapped inside the overturned SUV.
 
After extricating the two patients, rescue crews requested at least one helicopter to transport one with unspecified injuries. Mercy Air then took that patient to Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.
 
The other person was transported by ground ambulance.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was factor.
