HESPERIA, CA (April 11, 2022) – One person was airlifted in a head-on accident on Mariposa Road in Hesperia on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:20 p.m. on April 9 near Maple Avenue. Police said a white Chevrolet pickup truck and a red Audi sedan collided for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they located both vehicles with major front-end damage from the crash. They also found one patient suffering from critical injuries.
 
A helicopter transported the patient to Desert Valley Hospital. Mercy Air 22 then subsequently took the victim to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
 
Meanwhile, at least one ground ambulance transported another person to a local hospital.
 
At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a factor. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation by the Hesperia Police Department.
