At Least 1 Killed in Laytonville Crash With Big Rig on Highway 101

 
LAYTONVILLE, CA (April 12, 2022) — At least one person died in an accident with a big rig on Highway 101 near Bell Springs Road on Monday.
 
According to reports, the fatal accident involved two vehicles around 2:40 p.m. Just five miles from Bell Springs Road, a pickup truck and a big rig collided in an unknown fashion. Due to the impact, one of the vehicles caught on fire and trapped someone inside.
 
By 3:15 p.m., authorities requested a coroner’s unit to the scene and Caltrans closed both sides of the highway.
