Crash on 5 Freeway Results in Fatality in San Juan Capistrano

 
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (November 4, 2024) — Officers are investigating a fatal accident on the 5 Freeway near Camino Capistrano.
 
According to the Orange County Fire Authority, a person reported news about a victim lying on the road around 2:51 p.m. Saturday. Upon dispatch, paramedics found one person on the northbound 5 Freeway, south of Camino Capistrano. Paramedics confirmed the victim dead at 3:05 p.m.
 
Following the accident, authorities combed the scene for clues leading to what caused this fatality. Police did not confirm if the victim had been a pedestrian, a driver or a passenger in a vehicle.
 
Due to the crash, officers diverted traffic around the far-right lane of the 405 Freeway.
