57-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Car in Huntington Beach

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (March 19, 2024)Norma Solon was killed in a pedestrian accident in Huntington Beach, Monday morning on March 18.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Heil Avenue, just west of Bradbury Lane. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, a white 2014 Mazda 6 struck Solon who was not in a crosswalk, and was apparently feeding some ducks.
 
Solon, a 57-year-old Huntington Beach resident, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Mazda, a 61-year-old man from Huntington Beach, stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Police said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
 
A second car, described as a white SUV, may be involved in the crash.
 
Investigators are still working to determine if the crash is a hit-and-run. They urged witnesses or anyone with further information to contact HBPD Traffic Investigator C. Houlston at 714-536-5670.
