Head-On Accident on Highway 395 in Bridgeport Kills Two Drivers, Richard Smith and Noah Fogg

 
BRIDGEPORT, CA (December 17, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on accident on Highway 395 in Bridgeport on Sunday, December 5.
 
The fatal accident happened on December 5 about a mile north of Highway 167. According to the California Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Noah Fogg of Mammoth Lakes drove alone in a Dodge Neon at the time of the accident. At the same time, 78-year-old Richard Smith of Lake Forest drove a Toyota pickup with his wife, Maria Smith.
 
For an unknown reason, one vehicle drifted into the opposing lane and hit the other car head on. At this time, it is unclear which car drifted into oncoming traffic.
 
Neither driver survived the crash.
 
Maria Smith did survive and was airlifted to Renown Medical Center in Nevada.
 
The crash is under investigation.
