CANYON COUNTRY, CA (May 23, 2023) — Neri Munez faces several charges following a DUI hit-and-run accident on Sophia Lane near Scott Lane.
 
According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the hit-and-run crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Upon responding to the 27400 block of Sophia Lane, deputies found a car that had struck several vehicles. Authorities learned that a Canyon Country father crashed into multiple vehicles and fled the scene on foot with a child.
 
Neri Portillo Munez, the 29-year-old driver, ran away from his gray sedan with a female juvenile. Subsequently, officers arrested him for felony child endangerment, hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and DUI.
 
Officers booked him into the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station.
