Nathaniel Lugo Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 near Teague Avenue

 
GREENFIELD, CA (December 22, 2022) — Nathaniel Lugo was involved in a deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 101 near Teague Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Monterey office, the deadly pedestrian accident took place around 9:38 p.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, the 26-year-old pedestrian was running toward a southbound 2020 Tesla Model 3 that was moving at speeds of 70 mph. The driver, 32-year-old Nathaniel Lugo of King City, did not stop in time and struck the pedestrian.
 
Immediately after, Lugo called 911 and investigators reached the scene. Upon reviewing footage taken from inside the car, investigators learned that the pedestrian was running toward the car on the left-hand side, waving his arms erratically. After taking several steps toward the center lane, the pedestrian was hit by the Tesla and thrown toward the right shoulder.
 
Despite lifesaving efforts performed, paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
 
Drugs and alcohol did not play a factor in the accident, authorities confirmed. Although, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.
