Rider Dies after Colliding with Tanker Truck on Highway 88 in Barton

 
BARTON, CA (March 21, 2022) – A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident on Highway 88 in Barton on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:24 p.m. on March 16 near Timberline Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Peterbilt water tanker collided with a motorcycle in unclear circumstances.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
Officials added that the tanker caught fire upon impact, but it is unknown if the driver was hurt.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and liability.
