Three-Vehicle Accident on Hazel Avenue in Orangevale Leaves Motorcyclist Dead

 
ORANGEVALE, CA (July 4, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Hazel Avenue in Orangevale Saturday night on July 1.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:20 p.m. just south of Central Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, an adult male was driving a Scion sedan northbound when he veered to the left into southbound lanes for unknown reasons. The Scion then crashed head-on into a Hyundai SUV traveling southbound. The motorcyclist was traveling directly behind the SUV.
 
The motorcyclist, a man, struck the SUV head-on as a result of the initial crash. He was then ejected on the roadway.
 
First responders tried saving the motorcyclist, but he died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Scion sedan suffered major injuries. The female driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
 
CHP officials are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
