Three-Vehicle Accident on Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido Kills 41-Year-Old Motorcyclist

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (September 26, 2022) – A motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle accident on Bear Valley Parkway in unincorporated Escondido on Thursday afternoon, September 22.
 
The accident happened around 4:35 p.m. at Birch Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 41-year-old victim from Valley Center was riding a black Harley Davidson Street Glide in the northbound lane of Bear Valley, approaching Birch.
 
For unknown reasons, he collided with a silver Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 43-year-old Escondido woman.
 
The impact caused the motorcycle to strike an unoccupied Hyundai Accent parked along the right curb of Bear Valley. It also struck two pedestrians, a 33-year-old Escondido woman and a 45-year-old San Diego man.
 
First responders rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
The two pedestrians sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Sonata driver was unhurt.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to have contributed to the crash. The CHP urged witnesses to contact them at 760-643-3400.
