Rider Dies after Colliding Head-On with Truck on Tomales Petaluma Road in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (March 7, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on accident on Tomales Petaluma Road in Sonoma County on Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 11:50 a.m. on March 4 near Alexander Road, about 12 miles west of Petaluma. According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW motorcycle was traveling eastbound at an unsafe speed when it lost control at a curve in the road.
 
It then crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on into Dodge truck hauling a 25-foot travel trailer.
 
The impact ejected the motorcyclist off the bike. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the Dodge’s male driver was not injured, but its female passenger was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
 
At this time, this fatal crash is under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
