LONG BEACH, CA (March 17, 2022) – A motorcyclist died following an accident on 710 Freeway on Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 15, at about 9:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a motorcycle and a semi-truck collided near Wardlow Road.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Officers described the victim as a man in his 20s. However, authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Long Beach Fire Department personnel later arrived to clear the area.
 
Caltrans also responded to the scene and temporarily closed three northbound lanes to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
