Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Driver after Critically Injuring Rider at Oliphant and Rosecrans Streets

 
POINT LOMA, CA (April 1, 2022) – A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash at Oliphant Street and Rosecrans Street, late Tuesday afternoon.
 
The crash happened around 5:32 p.m. on March 29. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 56-year-old man was driving a white 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport northbound. He made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist on a gray 2016 Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM at the intersection and struck him.
 
As a result, the 31-year-old motorcyclist suffered fractured ribs, a fractured left arm, a fractured left leg and other internal injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Meanwhile, the driver drove away. A witness pursued him and notified police.
 
Police later arrested the suspect at Plum and Keats streets.
