DUI Crash on Mariposa Road in Hesperia Leaves Motorcyclist in Critical Condition

 
HESPERIA, CA (March 5, 2024) – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a DUI crash on Mariposa Road in Hesperia Monday afternoon on March 4.
 
The crash happened around 2:13 p.m. at Maple Avenue. According to the Hesperia Police Department, a black 4-door 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora was traveling southbound on Mariposa Road when the female driver turned left in front of the black 2007 SUZUKI GSX-R750, which was traveling northbound.
 
The impact caused the motorcycle to veer and crash into a parked Jeep SUV in the lot of the Pacific Eye Institute.
 
Responding firefighters found the motorcyclist with critical injuries. A helicopter took the motorcyclist to a trauma center for treatment.
 
Deputies performed a field sobriety test on the female driver of the black sedan and determined that she was driving under the influence. They arrested her for DUI.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
